Privacy Policy

Thank you for visiting ADHD Awareness Association. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have. We keep our practices simple: we do not collect donations on this site, we do affiliate marketing, and the only personal information we collect directly from people is email addresses (and an optional name) for our newsletter.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Email address (required for newsletter subscription). You may also optionally provide your name. We do not require any other personal details to subscribe.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and timestamps may be logged automatically by our server or by third-party analytics tools. This information is used in aggregate to help us operate and improve the site and is not combined with your email for marketing purposes unless you have subscribed.

Cookies and similar technologies

  • We and our service providers may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies for site functionality and analytics. You can manage or disable cookies via your browser settings; disabling some cookies may limit site functionality.

2. How we use your information

We use collected information only for the limited purposes described below:

  • To send the newsletter and other email communications you sign up for (e.g., event announcements, campaigns you opt into).

  • To operate, secure, and improve our website and services (analytics, troubleshooting, and aggregated reporting).

  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use collected emails for sale, rental, or advertising to third parties beyond the service providers listed below.

3. Affiliate marketing & disclosures

We participate in affiliate marketing: when you click certain links on our site and make purchases, we may earn a commission or referral fee from the merchant. Affiliates help fund our work. Affiliate links are clearly identified where practical.

  • We do not share your email address with affiliate merchants unless you explicitly provide your email directly to that merchant (for example, by completing a purchase on their site).

  • Affiliate commissions do not change the price you pay but may affect product recommendations. We cannot guarantee product or merchant performance—please review merchant terms before buying.

4. Sharing and third-party processors

We may share information with the following categories of third parties only as needed to provide our services:

  • Email service providers that deliver our newsletter.

  • Web hosting and analytics providers that help operate and analyze site traffic.

  • Legal or safety parties, if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

We require these providers to use personal information only to provide services to us and to maintain appropriate safeguards. These providers may be located outside your country; when they are, we take steps to protect your information (contractual safeguards, data processing agreements).

5. Your choices and rights

Unsubscribe / opt-out: Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You may also email contact@adhdaa.org to request removal from our mailing list.

Access, correction, deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information (your newsletter email) by contacting contact@adhdaa.org. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.

California residents (CCPA): If you are a California resident, you have additional rights including the right to request disclosure of categories of personal information collected and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood; affiliate marketing does not involve selling your email address.

European residents (GDPR): If you are in the EU/EEA you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability. To exercise rights, contact contact@adhdaa.org. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time (this will not affect processing done prior to withdrawal).

6. Data retention and security

Retention: We retain your newsletter email address only as long as you remain subscribed or as necessary to comply with legal obligations and to resolve disputes. If you request deletion, we will remove your email from active lists and take commercially reasonable steps to remove it from backups.

Security: We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; while we strive to protect data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our site and services are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact contact@adhdaa.org.

8. Links To Other Sites

Our site may link to third-party websites, including merchants with affiliate programs. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. Please read the privacy policies of any site you visit.

9. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The “Effective date” at the top will reflect the last update. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy here and, if appropriate, notify subscribers by email.
